CSC (now merged with CEC) has developed this contribution of the European churches for the European Year 2010. Its objective is to encourage the European institutions, EU Member States and other stakeholders to come to a more holistic understanding of the reasons which lead to poverty and social exclusion, as well as of the manifold impact of poverty and social exclusion not only on the people affected but on the whole society.
