Press Release 10/29e07.06.10 10:46 Visions on the Unity of the Church - CEC Churches in Dialogue Commission to meet The Churches in Dialogue Commission of the Conference of European Church (CiD) is meeting at the Bossey Institute, Bossey, Switzerland from the 7th to the 10th of June 2010. This is the first meeting of the newly elected commission members who were appointed by the CEC Central Committee last December. The Commission members will be reflecting on the decisions from the CEC Central Committee and CEC Presidium in relation of the work of the CiD. In light of this reflection work will be done on the priorities for the CiD up to 2013. Along with using the Charta Oecumenica as a guide for the framework of the CiD, the Commission members will also reflect on the theme of Visions on the Unity of the Church with regard to the whole of the work of the CiD. There will also be discussion regarding the preparations and implementation of the Third Consultation of the Theological Faculties in Europe to be held in Graz, 7-10 July 2010. Prof. Dr Viorel Ionita, CiD Director and Acting General Secretary of CEC, underlined that: “It will be very important that the CiD establish its working program for the next period of time in the light of the Policy Reference Report from the CEC Assembly at Lyon. Beyond this, the CiD will also establish its agenda in consistency with the work of the other commissions of CEC and will be open to cooperate with the CEC Revision Working Group”. ***** The Conference of European Churches (CEC) is a fellowship of some 120 Orthodox, Protestant, Anglican and Old Catholic Churches from all countries of Europe, plus 40 associated organisations.
