European churches focus on reconciliation and unity ahead of WCC Assembly
Moved by Christ’s love, European churches affirm their contribution toward reconciliation and unity. Speaking in the context of secular and plural European societies, over 150 participants of the European Regional Pre-Assembly of CEC gathered online, addressing crucial topics, including the war in Ukraine, and preparing for the 11th Assembly of the World Council of Churches, which will be held later this year in Karlsruhe, Germany.

CEC president calls for peace in Ukraine at the European Regional Pre-Assembly
President of CEC Rev. Christian Krieger in his special message at the first day of the European Regional Pre-Assembly called the European Union, political leaders and the international community to not spare any efforts in limiting bloodshed and ensuring peace through diplomatic dialogue in Ukraine, while maintaining the international order.

Ukraine: CEC together with global Christian organisations condemns assault, calls for peace, invites to prayer
Four Christian organisations are strongly condemning the advance of the Russian military into Ukraine and the assault that began on the night of 24 February 2022. They call for Russian troops to be brought back to Russia and an immediate end to the conflict. “Peace must prevail,” they insist.
