Christian group comments on the proposed EU asylum and migration pact

19 April, 2021

A coalition of nine Europe-wide Christian organisation including the Churches’ Commission for Migrants in Europe (CCME) have published a series of position papers reflecting on the proposals published by the European Commission regarding a European “pact” on asylum and migration.

The five papers issued by the Christian organisations reflect on the pact in general, proposals on pre entry screening and border procedures, return and readmission, search and rescue and criminalisation of solidarity, as well as solidarity on asylum and migration.

Speaking about the paper, and the EU pact on migration, CCME General Secretary Dr Torsten Moritz shared his comments in a recent interview with the World Council of Churches.
