The need for just and sustainable systems has been revealed by the far-reaching effects of the global COVID-19 pandemic. In this context the 2020 Season of Creation Guide invites the Christian family to unite in a worldwide celebration of prayer and action to protect our common home.
Among others, the European Christian Environmental Network (ECEN) has contributed to the guide that addresses the theme “Jubilee for the Earth” considering the integral relationship between the Earth and ecological, economic, social and political ways of living.
The Season of Creation is celebrated annually from 1 September to 4 October.
“Care for creation is one of those aspects of life that deserves in post-corona times undiminished attention,” said Rev. Dr Peter Pavlovic, ECEN Secretary. “We are pleased that for this year the ecumenical steering committee of Season of Creation, to which ECEN belongs among others, was able to prepare the liturgical guide, which is now offered for wide use.”
“We invite you to prepare celebration of Season of Creation in your parishes, churches and communities, wherever you live,” he added.
