Meet CEC's new Dialogue Secretary

The Conference of European Churches is pleased to announce that Aikaterini (Katerina) Pekridou will join the executive staff team in Brussels in late 2016 as Dialogue Secretary. In this role Ms Pekridou will facilitate the theological and dialogue work of CEC, including providing fora for issues of ecclesiology, spirituality, and mission among Member Churches. Interreligious and intercultural dialogue is also included in the scope of her work.

Ms Pekridou comes to the role of Dialogue Secretary with a wealth of relevant experiences and education. Most recently she has served as a research associate at the Institute for Missiology and the Study of Theologies at the University of Münster (Germany).

Her ecumenical experience includes consulting for the World Council of Churches Faith and Order Commission, participation in the Global Ecumenical Theological Institute, and training in international mission and ecumenism. Ms Pekridou has been active within CEC networks and with its Member Churches and National Councils of Churches. Her practical experience is complemented by an extensive publication and conference record on issues ranging from Orthodoxy, Islam in Europe, the Eucharist, mission and evangelism, and Christian unity.

She is completing doctoral studies at Trinity College, Dublin (Ireland) where she researches the theology of ministry in the agreed statements of international bilateral dialogues between Anglicans, Eastern Orthodox, and Roman Catholics and the multilateral Faith and Order dialogue.
