The Conference of European Churches together with the Churches’ Commission for Migrants in Europe (CCME) are inviting churches to commemorate the lives of thousands of migrants and refugees, who lost their lives in the Mediterranean, seeking safety on their way to Europe.

Churches-EU Dialogue: Ecumenical delegation meets with Portuguese EU Presidency
An ecumenical delegation comprising Rev. Christian Krieger, president of the Conference of European Churches (CEC) and H. Em. Card. Jean-Claude Hollerich SJ, president of the Commission of the Bishops’ Conferences of the European Union (COMECE), met with Augusto Santos Silva, Portuguese Minister of State and Foreign Affairs, on 12 May 2021 in Lisbon, to exchange on the priorities of the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

CEC receives EU grant to protect places of worship together with European religious organisations
The Conference of European Churches, together with the European Jewish Congress’ (EJC) Security and Crisis Centre (SACC), Faith Matters and the European Buddhist Union, has received a €3 million grant from the European Commission to assist in the protection of places of worship in Europe.
