CEC conducted a training for the members of the Council of Churches in the Netherlands on security for places of worship and religious communities. The training was held online as part of the Safer and Stronger Communities in Europe, a project carried out by CEC together with European religious partners, funded by the Internal Police Fund of the European Commission.

CEC General Secretary Dr Jørgen Skov Sørensen highlighted the role of the European churches in transforming continent’s shared future, especially amid challenges posed by pluralistic and secular societies faced with religious illiteracy. He was speaking at the 13th Synod of the EKD, one of the biggest Member Churches of CEC.

The UN Framework Convention on Climate Change has been endorsed by all countries of the world. The 27th conference starts on 6 November in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, with all parties that signed the Convention.

The Stewards’ Programme is an ecumenical experience for young adults from CEC Member Churches in Europe participating in CEC General Assembly that will be held from 14 – 20 June 2023 in Tallinn, Estonia, exploring the theme “Under God’s blessing – shaping the future”.

The CEC president was speaking at the international meeting “The Cry for Peace: Religions and cultures in dialogue” held from 23 to 25 October by the Catholic Community of Sant'Egidio.
