SASCE raises awareness about security among churches in the Netherlands
CEC conducted a training for the members of the Council of Churches in the Netherlands on security for places of worship and religious communities. The training was held online as part of the Safer and Stronger Communities in Europe, a project carried out by CEC together with European religious partners, funded by the Internal Police Fund of the European Commission.

EKD Synod: CEC General Secretary highlights the role of churches in transforming Europe’s future
CEC General Secretary Dr Jørgen Skov Sørensen highlighted the role of the European churches in transforming continent’s shared future, especially amid challenges posed by pluralistic and secular societies faced with religious illiteracy. He was speaking at the 13th Synod of the EKD, one of the biggest Member Churches of CEC.

CEC president stresses the significance of dialogue to achieve peace at R20 Bali Summit
“Religious fanaticism, hatred, intolerance toward the ‘other’ is a major challenge for the globalised world. Only dialogue offers a credible alternative to violence and war. Dialogue to resolve differences, and dialogue to heal wounded memories,” said CEC President Rev. Christian Krieger, speaking at the R20 Interfaith Summit held in Bali, Indonesia.
