Conference highlights significance of safer and stronger communities in Europe
The Safer and Stronger Communities in Europe project was the focus of an interfaith conference at Dharma Mati in Berlin, organised by the European Buddhist Union. CEC collaborates on SASCE, a European Commission funded project, together with its Buddhist, Jewish and Muslim partners.

CEC contributes to dialogue on rights of religious minorities in Europe
CEC contributed to the conference on “Freedom of Religion with regard to Religious Slaughter” organised by the European Commission on 20 October in Brussels. CEC’s contribution focused on freedom of religion or belief, and the rights of religious minorities, presented by Dr Elizabeta Kitanovic, CEC Executive Secretary for Human Rights.

CEC’s role in European societies highlighted at church conference in Estonia
“Ecumenism is a necessary exercise of giving and taking, listening and talking. Churches of the ecumenical movement may with this exercise have a fundamental, unified message for our national and European decision-makers,” said Dr Jørgen Skov Sørensen, General Secretary of the Conference of European Churches (CEC) in his address at a conference organised by the Estonian churches.

APC prepares for 2023 CEC Assembly in Tallinn
Members of the CEC Assembly Planning Committee met in Brussels, preparing for the CEC General Assembly that will be held from 14 – 20 June 2023 in Tallinn, Estonia. The committee made progress in developing the programme and organisational aspects of the assembly that will be focusing on the theme “Under God’s blessing – shaping the future”.
